First Visit

Getting to know you and your needs

The first and most important element in ensuring optimum oral health is the initial exam. At your first appointment, Dr. Tikson or Dr. Eichenlaub will spend a significant amount of time getting to know you and your needs as well as gathering an extensive amount of information about your current oral health. This will include any pertinent X-rays and a comprehensive clinical exam, which includes an oral cancer screening. To help us better understand your dental history, please fill out the New Patient form on the Patient Forms page, and return it to us prior to your visit.

Dentist Susan Tikson smiles and talks to a male patient in a relaxed setting during his initial dental visit.

After the examination, they will consult with you, listen to any questions or concerns you might have, and if any further procedures are required, they will work with you to determine the most appropriate and effective treatment options. Any emergency concerns will be addressed with the highest priority. Dr. Tikson, Dr. Eichenlaub, and their team of skilled practitioners are committed to translating your preferences and needs into a beautiful, healthy smile.

Our dentists and team are pleased to welcome children of all ages. We strive to make children feel comfortable so their first visit to the dentist will inspire them to have fun with brushing and flossing and encourage them to establish excellent long-term habits. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends children see a dentist by their first birthday.

The first appointment usually lasts about 2 hours for adults and 40 minutes for children, but you can save some time by downloading the paperwork [link] and completing it before you arrive.

We understand that dental hygiene can be costly to maintain. For that reason, our dentists and team strive to make dental care as accessible as possible. Cash, checks, and credit cards are all accepted as payment, and interest-free financing is also available through CareCredit. If you have dental insurance, our office is happy to help you obtain benefits by filing your claim for you.

Call today to schedule an appointment or to just speak with a member of our team. We are happy to help you and answer any of your questions.
